Programme Background
About UN Sustainable Development Goals（SDGs)
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a common blueprint for the peace and prosperity of people and the planet now and in the future. At its core are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), an urgent call to action for all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership.
About ESG
ESG is an acronym for Environment, Social and Governance.

The concept is originated in the United Nations and has become one of the global metrics for measuring the long-term value impact and sustainability performance of companies.
Currently, the global authoritative ESG frameworks include GRI, SASB, ISSB, TCFD, TNFD, IIRC, HKEX ESG Disclosure Framework, etc. All listed companies and large and medium-sized enterprises will disclose their corporate ESG performance, almost involving all industries.
Pain-point
In recent years, ESG has become a focus for many industries, especially finance and banking, with other sectors joining in to move towards carbon neutrality.

However, the coverage of ESG in school education is still relatively lacking, and even secondary school principals and teachers do not know how to practice ESG or sustainable development.

With ESG and the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) being widely promoted globally, students need to keep up with the international pace, understand ESG, develop international cooperation and organizational skills, and enhance their ability to drive technological innovation.
About the Youth Leadership Programme
This programme is designed to provide a unique “work with the UN" internship opportunity for youths.

The four-week programme consists of 8 days 7 nights onsite internship at the UNIDO Shanghai Office and a 3-week online internship.
